Moncton – Canada

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

Finishing up our Canadian Tour… I can’t believe it has been almost three weeks. Here are some photos i took today while walking around the small town of Moncton, New Brunswick. I found myself walking along the Petitcodiac River and was instantly inspired to take photos. I don’t care what country I am in, if there is a river near by, you’ll find me there. This one, was no exception.

I just love this.

Flowers

As I usually do, I made some flower offerings and I thought I’d take a few pictures.  You’re just gonna have to excuse the poor quality and know that these looked way more impressive in person.

Floral Arrangements

Monday, January 19th, 2009

It feels like lately all of my past hobbies or studies have been coming into play.  Mostly, I have been spending my time when not cooking, making floral arrangements. Lots and lots of floral arrangements.  I love it.  I always try to stay away from perfectly symmetrical designs.  When you look at flowers in a garden what you’ll see is that naturally, the flowers bloom in different places and at different times.  So when I arrange flowers, I try to create a composition that works with the flowers I have to create a natural look and if some of the flowers have yet to bloom, I factor that in for later.

What I have discovered, is that I NEED a small camera.  A little digital point and shoot so that when I am doing such projects I can quickly photograph them and share with others.  Any suggestions are most welcome.  Working for years with my Canon DSLR is great, but not the most convenient for when I am volunteering in the mountains and want to quickly document what I’m doing.  And lets be honest, I would love one with a Zeiss lens :)   The upside of this purchase, is I’ll start posting the photos of my arrangements for everyone…

So please, anyone who has a point and shoot camera that they love, love, love, please help point me in the right direction!!!
